EFIP
TThe European Federation of Inland Ports (EFIP) was created in Brussels in 1994. Today, it counts some 200 inland ports in 18 countries covering the EU, Switzerland and central and eastern Europe.
EFIP intervenes vis-à-vis the European institutions:
- To uphold and promote the role of inland ports as future-oriented transfer nodes integrating land and waterborne transport.
- To highlight their dynamic character as logistics and industrial zones for a smooth functioning of Europe's hinterland supply chain
- To underline their role as actors in national and regional development creating considerable added value.
